C. & J. Clark International Ltd. is a British, international shoe manufacturer and retailer trading as Clark’s. Founded by Quaker brothers Cyrus and James Clark Clarks first opened in 1825 in Street, Somerset, England. Clark’s is still headquartered there. Clark’s has over 1,000 stores and franchises globally. The company netted £150 million on sales of £1,433m last year. Clark’s is the 31st largest private company in Great Britain. CEO Melissa Potter took over the company in 2010. Now a presence in India, Clark’s now has 25 stand-alone stores there and has re-launched itself in China with 400 outlets in partnership with local footwear retailers.
