About this mall
Alamance Crossing opened its first phase on August 1, 2007. Its first two anchors were Belk and JCPenney, both of which relocated from existing stores at the smaller Burlington Square Mall, the town’s existing shopping center.[2][3] A second phase brought in Dillard’s and Barnes & Noble as additional anchors. A further expansion, slated for opening in 2009, will comprise a movie theater.
Since the opening of Alamance Crossing, Burlington Square Mall has also lost its Goody’s anchor. Several stores such as Hallmark and Kay Jewelers have kept stores open at both malls.
