About this mall

Burnsville Center is located in Burnsville, Minnesota. It is one of the larger enclosed malls in Minnesota with over 150 stores and approximately 1,100,000 square feet (102,000 m2). The mall opened in 1977 after Joe Rimnac sold purchased farmland to Homart Development; however, the mall is now owned by CBL & Associates, a company with 70 malls throughout the United States.

The mall is used also used as a transportation stop in the region, with bus service linking the mall to other destinations. Regular public transit service is provided by the MVTA. The center is expected to be a stop on the I-35W Bus Rapid Transitway, which connects the mall to downtown Minneapolis (another major shopping destination in the region, particularly during weekdays).
