Founded in 1883 and owned by The Bon-Ton, Elder-Beerman is an American department store chain based in the Midwest region. There were sixty-three stores in eight states. Several Elder-Beerman stores in Michigan and Indiana have been transformed to Carson’s or Younkers reducing Elder-Beerman stores to thirty-seven.
